What goes in each bin
General waste
Household clean-outs, furniture, timber, plasterboard, green waste, mixed renovation rubbish. If in doubt, it's general.
Concrete, brick, tile
Concrete, brick, tile and asphalt only. No fibro, cement sheeting, stone benchtops, timber or plastic.
Clean soil and fill
Clean dirt and fill. Dirt with some broken concrete or rock through it is fine in this bin.
Not accepted
Asbestos or anything that might be (fibro, old cement sheeting), chemicals, paint, oils, solvents, gas bottles, batteries, tyres, fridges and freezers, medical or food waste.
Tip: leftover paint? Brisbane City Council resource recovery centres, including Willawong, take household and trade paint for free through the Paintback scheme (containers up to 20 litres).
Mattresses: $70 each, tell us when you book. Green waste goes in a general waste bin, no extra charge, but stumps and logs are heavy, so mention them.
Found something we can't take? It stays out, and if we can't collect the bin because of it, a return visit is $95.
