Hire terms

Version 1.0 · effective 19 October 2026

1. Who we are

SKIP X Skip Bins (“SKIP X”, “we”, “us”) is a trading name of The Trustee for Level M Trust & The Trustee for Level N Investment Trust, ABN 45 478 622 882. Contact: 0408 138 881, info@skipx.com.au. “You” means the person who books the bin.

2. These terms

These terms apply to every skip bin hire. You accept them when you save your card to confirm a booking. Our price list on skipx.com.au/prices forms part of these terms. If anything in these terms conflicts with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, your rights under that law apply.

3. Your quote

We quote from what you tell us: the waste type, bin size, hire period and where the bin goes. If what you tell us turns out to be different, for example concrete in a general waste bin, the charges in these terms and our price list apply.

4. What the price includes

Every price includes GST, delivery, collection, 7 days’ hire, and disposal of the waste up to the included weight shown for that bin. There is no fuel levy, card surcharge or weekend surcharge.

5. Weight

After collection we tip the bin at a licensed facility and the weight comes from that facility’s weighbridge docket. Weight over the included amount is charged at the per 10 kg rate for that bin type on our price list, in 10 kg steps, rounded down. A copy of the docket comes with your invoice. If you query a weight, we’ll show you the docket.

6. Waste types

General waste bins take mixed household, renovation and green waste. Concrete, brick, tile and asphalt bins take only those materials. Soil and fill bins take clean dirt and fill, including dirt with some broken concrete or rock. It’s your responsibility to choose the right bin for your waste and keep other waste out of it. If a concrete or soil bin contains other waste when we collect or tip it, you agree we may tip it as general waste and charge it as a general waste bin of the same size, plus the general waste rate for weight over that bin’s included amount, as set out on our price list. We don’t need to contact you first. The weighbridge docket, and any photos we take, are available to you on request.

7. Things we can’t take

We don’t accept asbestos or material that may contain asbestos (including fibro and old cement sheeting), chemicals, paint, oils, solvents, gas bottles, batteries, tyres, fridges and freezers, or medical or food waste. Mattresses are accepted in general waste bins at the price on our price list if you tell us when you book. If we find a prohibited item, we may leave it on site or ask you to remove it before we collect. If a prohibited item is only found at the tip, any extra cost of lawfully disposing of it is charged at cost, and we will show you the receipt.

8. Filling the bin

Fill to no higher than the top edge of the bin. For heavy loads, fill a 4m³ bin (or a 3m³ bin of wet soil) to about 60% and a 6m³ bin to about half. We can’t legally carry an overfilled or overweight bin. If a bin can’t be lifted or carried safely, you’ll need to remove the excess before we collect it, and a return visit fee applies if we have to come back.

9. Where the bin goes

You choose where the bin goes and confirm you have the right to place it there. Our truck needs about 3 m of width and clear overhead space. On request, and where we have them available, we can place the bin on timber boards to help protect your surface. Driveways and surfaces can still be marked or cracked by the weight of a loaded bin, especially older, thin or unsealed surfaces. We’re not responsible for that damage unless it’s caused by our negligence or we fail to use reasonable care and skill. Tell us about any surface you’re worried about when you book.

10. Council permits

A bin on a footpath or road for more than 48 hours needs a council permit. We can lodge it for you and charge the council fee at cost, with no admin fee. Permits take about 5 working days. Placing a bin on public land without a required permit is your responsibility.

11. Hire period and extensions

The hire period is 7 days from delivery. Extra days are charged at the rate on our price list, up to 7 extra days. Text or call us before the collection date to extend. On collection day the bin must be accessible.

12. Payment

When you book, we send you a secure link to save your card with our payment provider, Stripe. Nothing is charged at that point. By saving your card, you authorise us to charge it once after the bin is tipped for: the quoted price, any weight over the included amount, extra hire days, and any other charges set out in these terms and our price list. We send an itemised invoice with the weighbridge docket when we charge you. If the charge fails, we’ll text you a link to pay, and payment is due within 7 days. If you think a charge is wrong, contact us first and we’ll sort it out.

13. Cancellations and changes

You can cancel or change your booking free of charge any time before the truck leaves for your delivery. After that, the return visit fee applies.

14. Return visits

If we can’t deliver or collect as booked (for example because access is blocked, the bin is overfilled, or there’s an item we can’t take), we will try to call you first and rebook. A return visit is charged at the fee on our price list.

15. Delivery window

When you book we give you a delivery window. If we miss it without calling you first, we take $50 off your invoice.

16. Looking after the bin

The bin stays our property. Don’t move it, light fires in it, or let anyone climb on or play in it. You are responsible for damage to the bin caused by misuse, such as fire or chemicals, but not for normal wear and tear.

17. Your rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right you have that can’t lawfully be excluded.

18. Privacy

We handle your details as set out in our privacy page at skipx.com.au/privacy.

19. Questions and complaints

Call 0408 138 881 or email info@skipx.com.au. We aim to reply within 2 business days. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you saved your card.
