Do I need a council permit for a skip bin in Brisbane or Logan?
You don't need a permit if the bin goes on your driveway or yard. You may need one if it goes on the footpath or road.
Brisbane City Council
A bin on a Brisbane City Council footpath for under 48 hours, with 1.2 m of path kept clear, doesn't need a permit. Longer than that, it does. We lodge it for you at council cost; allow about 5 working days.
Logan City Council
In Logan suburbs such as Browns Plains, Kingston, Marsden and Woodridge, footpath and road placement goes through Logan City Council. Tell us when you book and we'll arrange it at council cost.
Tips
- A driveway is almost always the easiest spot.
- Keep clear of trees, wires, letterboxes and water meters.
- Add a note about access when you book, e.g. a gate code or steep driveway.
